Alexander S. Nesterov addressed the Committee for Economic Policy and Strategic Planning of St. Petersburg
On January 29, 2025, an expanded meeting of the Committee for Economic Policy and Strategic Planning of St. Petersburg was following the results of work for 2024 and on the tasks for 2025 "Results of the economic development of St. Petersburg. An inside and outside view."
The meeting was hosted by Valery Nikolaevich Moskalenko, Vice Governor of St. Petersburg and Head of the Administration of the Governor of St. Petersburg, Alexey Vladislavovich Zyryanov, Chairman of the Committee on Economic Policy and Strategic Planning of St. Petersburg, Anatoly Ivanovich Kotov, Special Representative of the Governor of St. Petersburg for Economic Development, Dmitry Evgenievich Sukhoverkhov, Chairman of the North-Western Bank of Sberbank, Alexander Mikhailovich Khodachek, Vice President of the Higher School of Economics in St. Petersburg, member of the Public Council of the Committee, Alexander Mikhailovich Kukushkin, Head of the Department of the Federal State Statistics Service for St. Petersburg and the Leningrad Region.
The meeting summed up the results of the Committee's work for 2024 and outlined the tasks for 2025. Both representatives of the Committee and invited speakers gave speeches. Alexander Sergeevich Nesterov, Head of the International Laboratory of Game Theory and Decision Making at the Higher School of Economics in Saint Petersburg, had a discussion with event participants about game theory and scientific tools for making economic decisions: the difficulty of predicting equilibrium outcomes (using the Braess paradox as an example) and the problem of aggregating expert opinions.
