Hubert Kempf (Ecole Normale Supérieure Paris-Saclay, HSE Moscow, CES-Ifo) will give a talk on Monetary union as an international monetary system.

Abstract: In the lecture professor Kempf will provide a view on monetary unions opposing a more standard optimal currency area approach pioneered by Mundell in 1961. The lecture will present some new ideas suggested by professor Kempf in his new book «Economie des unions monetaires» («Economics of monetary unions»).
